MSH: A myogenic regulatory factor that controls myogenesis. Myogenin is induced during differentiation of every skeletal muscle cell line that has been investigated, in contrast to the other myogenic regulatory factors that only appear in certain cell types.,NCI: Myogenin (224 aa, ~25 kDa) is encoded by the human MYOG gene. This protein is involved in both transcription and myogenesis.
