It is important in maintaining the colloidal osmotic pressure and transporting large organic molecules.,CSP: major fraction of noncellular blood protein; normal range 3.5 to 5.5 grams/dl in adult human.,NCI: The main protein in blood plasma. Low levels of serum albumin occur in people with malnutrition, inflammation, and serious liver and kidney disease.
