MSH: A species of nonpathogenic fluorescent bacteria found in feces, sewage, soil, and water, and which liquefy gelatin.,NCI: A species of obligatively aerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is motile, non spore forming, a source of fluorescein and mupirocin and is used in the production of yogurt. P. fluorescens can be pathogenic to immunocompromised individuals.
