MSH: Removal of all of the organs and adjacent structures of the pelvis. It is usually performed to surgically remove cancer involving the bladder, uterine cervix, or rectum. (Stedman, 25th ed),NCI: A major surgical procedure involving the removal of all the contents of the pelvic cavity, including reproductive organs, bladder, rectum, and anus. It is performed for cancers of the pelvic cavity organs that have not responded to other treatment options.,NCI: Surgery to remove the lower colon, rectum, and bladder, and create stomata (openings) through which urine and stool are passed out of the body. In women, the cervix, vagina, ovaries, and nearby lymph nodes are also removed.
