UMD: Radiant warming units designed to provide thermal stability to infants while allowing direct observation. Most of these units can be operated either with the heating elements turning on and off according to the changes in the infant's skin temperature (automated mode) or by setting the heater at a constant power level for a set period of time (manual mode).
