Iduronate Sulfatase

MSH: An enzyme that specifically cleaves the ester sulfate of iduronic acid. Its deficiency has been demonstrated in Hunter's syndrome, which is characterized by an excess of dermatan sulfate and heparan sulfate. EC 3.1.6.13.,NCI: Iduronate 2-sulfatase (550 aa, ~62 kDa) is encoded by the human IDS gene. This protein is involved in the degradation of glycosaminoglycans.
