MSH: Heteropolysaccharides which contain an N-acetylated hexosamine in a characteristic repeating disaccharide unit. The repeating structure of each disaccharide involves alternate 1,4- and 1,3-linkages consisting of either N-acetylglucosamine or N-acetylgalactosamine.,CSP: polymers of alternating sugar acids and aminosugars, which may be sulfated or otherwise further substituted; contribute to adhesion, elasticity, viscosity, etc., of extracellular substances.,NCI: A type of long, unbranched polysaccharide molecule. Glycosaminoglycans are major structural components of cartilage and are also found in the cornea of the eye.,NCI: Linear polysaccharides composed of disaccharide repeating units of glycosamine-glycans, two monosaccharide units (hexosamine and the repeating disaccharide of either hexuronate or galactose) located on the surface of cells or in the extracellular matrix contributing to adhesion, elasticity, and viscosity of extracellular substances.
