MSH: A genus of gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria that has a tendency to form long filaments. Its organisms are widely distributed in nature and are found in MAMMALS; BIRDS; and FISHES. Erysipelothrix may appear gram-negative because they decolorize easily.,NCI: A genus of aerobic, Gram positive, rod shaped bacterium assigned to the phylum Firmicutes and the family Erysipelotrichaceae.,NCI: Any bacteria that is not assigned to the species level but can be assigned to the Erysipelothrix genus level.
