MSH: Gram-negative bacteria isolated from infections of the respiratory and intestinal tracts and from the buccal cavity, intestinal tract, and urogenital tract. They are probably part of the normal flora of man and animals.,NCI: A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacterium assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is oxidase positive, catalase, urease and oxidase negative, indole negative and reduces nitrate. E. corrodens is generally classified as a commensal organism of the mouth and upper respiratory tract but may cause disease in patients with cancer.,NCI: Any bacterial organism that can be assigned to the species Eikenella corrodens.
