pubmed-article:871359 | pubmed:abstractText | A case of infantile lobar emphysema is presented. The period of weaning the infant from the ventilator is discussed, together with some suggestions for the future management of similar cases. Respiratory therapists were used to keep constant surveillance on ventilator function and inspired oxygen concentration. The use of dummies or pacifiers by infants may be detrimental in some instances. Excess humidification may increase airway resistance. | lld:pubmed |
