Broad joint initiatives, involving various disciplines such as, cardiology, urology, oncology, orthopaedics and gynaecology, are needed to optimise medical care during the climacteric. Oestrogen-progesterone treatment is the most important means currently available for the prevention of postmenopausal problems. This form of hormone therapy also appears to provide protection against osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. | lld:pubmed |
