pubmed-article:6675411 | pubmed:abstractText | The cellular immune response to lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus infection was found to be normal in 6-month-old mice with physiological thymus involution, while it was reduced in 18-month-old mice. The Bordetella pertussis vaccine elicited immunosuppression in 6-month-old mice with normal immunological responsiveness, while it failed to affect the physiologically diminished cellular immune response in 18-month-old mice. The extent of immunosuppression elicited by the vaccine changed parallel to its concomitant spleen hypertrophy inducing effect. | lld:pubmed |
