pubmed-article:2800482 | pubmed:abstractText | A study is presented of the general activity and isoenzymatic spectrum of creatine phosphokinase (CPK) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in patients with acute meningitis of different etiology. The enzymatic activity proved to be increased due to the cerebral (CPK-BB) isoform. Liberation of CPK-BB from the brain tissue and its penetration into the intercellular fluid and then into the CSF was related to the functional-structural changes in the cellular membranes of the brain in meningitis. | lld:pubmed |
