pubmed-article:16898876 | pubmed:abstractText | The reporting of the results of the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial in 1993 has led to a major reappraisal of management practices and outcomes in type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents. A considerable body of outcome data has been generated from Australia in this post-Diabetes Control and Complications Trial era relating to incidence, metabolic control, growth, hypoglycaemia, microvascular and macrovascular complications, cognition, behaviour and quality of life. These data are important in planning future management strategies and resource allocation and as a basis for future research. | lld:pubmed |
