pubmed-article:15340305 | pubmed:abstractText | In 2002 a total of 98 patients were operated on for odontogenic sinusitis, 49 of these were operated on by endoscopic methods and the rest by classical methods. The transporting function of the epithelium in the nasal cavity and maxillary sinus and the maxillary sinus aeration were evaluated. Pneumatization of the sinus was completely restored and the transporting function of the ciliated epithelium was less disturbed in the patients operated on by the endoscopic method, that is, the mechanisms of maxillary sinus cleansing from secretions were retained, which led to stable cure. | lld:pubmed |
