The need for donors continues, and probably only about 10% of the potentially available donor supply is currently utilized. The current development of new and less toxic immunosuppressive molecules intensifies this chronic and critical shortage of donors. The use of xenografts appears still to be in the distant future, and immunological tolerance remains a beautiful dream. | lld:pubmed |
