pubmed-article:10677927pubmed:abstractTextWith the increasing popularity of laparoscopic surgery in gynecologic diseases, complications with this procedure are noted more frequently. The majority of complications occur during operation, and most of the cases are immediately identified. The recovery and outcome are relatively good due to urgent repair and management. Herein, we report a complication--a trocar, inducing small intestinal damage, which was detected during laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy. The damage was repaired promptly extraperitoneally with an uneventful recovery. Through a review of the literature and our experience, possible preventive methods of this complication are discussed. In addition, by this case review, we hoped that such a complication could be avoided in the future.lld:pubmed
