pubmed-article:8706562pubmed:abstractText40 children with pectus excavatum were divided into subgroups according to the FI (> 0.2 or < 0.2) and underwent M-ME examination for their cardiac function. 28 of 40 patients had their cardiac function and thoracic index re-examined after the operation. The results showed the cardiac function of children with pectus excavatum was damaged as FI of the patients was less than 0.2 and their cardiac function was getting well as their thoracic index improved.lld:pubmed
