pubmed-article:8190669 | pubmed:abstractText | The biological pathways exist that could allow psychological factors to alter immune status in HIV-positive individuals. It yet remains to be determined whether such factors can, in fact, act as cofactors in HIV progression. The biology of AIDS is complex, and a multitude of processes may act on HIV progression and complicate studies in this area. The search for modifiable host factors that may alter the progression of HIV infection, however, is an important part of AIDS research and deserves the careful attention of behavioral and biological scientists. | lld:pubmed |
