The clinical picture, bacteriology and treatment of the disease are discussed on the basis of 397 cases reported in the literature. It is concluded that ultrasound scanning of the liver is essential for early diagnosis and that the treatment of choice is percutaneous needle aspiration in combination with bactericidal antibiotics. | lld:pubmed |
