pubmed-article:6488421pubmed:abstractTextTo determine the prevalence and the trend of urban cutaneous leishmaniasis in the city of Kerman, Southeast Iran, a survey was made in more than 35,000 children in 77 elementary schools and 36 junior high schools. The overall prevalence of the active lesion was 0.8% and the scar rate 4.4%, cases had been few before 1970, then started to increase and reached a maximum in 1977.
