pubmed-article:5077984pubmed:otherAbstractPIP: Since the 1930s more and more articles appear which are concerned with fertile and infertile periods of a menstrual cycle in relation to the temperature of the body. A major contribution was the definition of a significant increase of temperature which occurs during a short period (48 hours or less) and is followed by 3 days when the temperature is at least .2 degrees C higher than the termperature noted during the 6-day period preceding the sharp rise. Couples using the temperature method without actual discussion with a doctor are not as successful with it as those having consulted a physician. The temperature method is a good, reliable, and harmless method which should be recommended to the general public.lld:pubmed
