pubmed-article:3943020pubmed:abstractTextDistant nontraumatic clostridial myonecrosis in association with malignancy is an uncommon disorder, with only 14 well-documented cases previously reported in the English literature. Clostridium perfringens and C. septicum are the most common organisms, usually gaining access to the circulation through an ulcerated lesion of the small bowel or colon. A case report of this syndrome caused by C. histolyticum is presented with a review of the literature.lld:pubmed
