pubmed-article:18571733pubmed:abstractTextRecent studies indicate that medication resistant depressed patients can be successfully treated by a series of sessions of High Frequency repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (HF-rTMS), delivered on the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). However, changes in subjectively experienced mood give only limited insight into the underlying physiological responses. Previous studies in depressed patients, as well as in healthy volunteers, have reported a possible impact of HF-rTMS on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.lld:pubmed
