The gene, which contains 6 introns, encodes a protein of 346 amino acid residues, preceded by a tentative 26-residue signal peptide. The deduced amino-terminal sequence agrees with the amino-terminal end of a lignin peroxidase isozyme previously isolated from carbon-limited cultures of T versicolor. | lld:pubmed |
