pubmed-article:15558444 | pubmed:abstractText | Interventional radiology offers not only local but also loco-regional therapeutic concepts for the treatment of liver metastases. While the local concepts are employed as image-guided, interstitial techniques, a vascular access is ideal for the loco-regional distribution of anti-tumour drugs. In the present article interstitial employed ablation methods such as radiofrequency ablation, laser-induced thermotherapy and CT-guided brachytherapy are evaluated on the basis of the available literature. The field of loco-regional vascular techniques contributes analyses of intra-arterial chemotherapy via minimally invasively implanted port systems as well as transarterial chemoembolization. | lld:pubmed |
