The procedure has permitted the avoidance of retrocaval dissection and temporary vena caval occlusion. The caval outflow was respected during the anhepatic phase. The technique, requiring only one caval anastomosis, has reduced the duration of the anhepatic phase and the need for venous bypass.lld:pubmed
