pubmed-article:12145859pubmed:abstractTextThe thirty-years experience of diagnosis and treatment of the bladder foreign body in children was summarized. There were treated 19 children with the bladder foreign bodies in the clinic. There were 12 (63.12%) girls and 7 (36.88%) boys, aged from 3 to 15 years old. Three mechanisms of penetration of foreign bodies into the bladder were delineated: by retrograde way via urethra; while gun-shot wounding, trauma or due to migration from surrounding tissues and organs; as the consequence of faults, committed during performance of operations or therapeutic-diagnostic procedures. In 14 patients the foreign bodies were removed transvesically and in 5--transurethrally. All the patients had recovered. Complications did not occur. Late results were studied up.lld:pubmed
