It is a slow-growing, pigmented tumor evolving from a premalignant lesion on the exposed cutaneous surface of an elderly patient. Histologically, it is marked by pleomorphism of melanocytes with evidence of invasion. A case is presented demonstrating the features of this malignant melanoma with an exceptionally good prognosis.
