pubmed-article:10477421 | pubmed:abstractText | A previously unrecognized left ventricular thrombus developed a distinct echogenic rim after intravenous injection of albumin microbubbles despite no visible opacification of the left-sided chambers. Absence of visible left ventricular opacification suggests a low density of microbubbles crossing the pulmonary vasculature and a high affinity of the microbubbles for the thrombus or its endothelial surface. These findings support previous observations that albumin microbubbles demonstrate transient adherence to abnormal endothelium. | lld:pubmed |
