Protein Isoforms


NCI: Refers to variants of the same protein which can be separated on special conducting media using electrophoresis. The differences may arise from genetically determined differences in primary structure or by modification of the same primary sequence.,CSP: genetic variants of the same protein between various organisms, tissues, developmental stages, etc.,MSH: Different forms of a protein that may be produced from different GENES, or from the same gene by ALTERNATIVE SPLICING.
