. . "Lanosterol synthase ((S)-2,3-epoxysqualene mutase) catalyzes the cyclization of (S)-2,3-oxidosqualene to form lanosterol during sterol biosynthesis. The crystal structure of this enzyme had been determined |CITS: [15525992]|. A human liver cDNA was expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain SMY8. It coded for a polypeptide of 732 amino acids, with a predicted molecular weight of 83 kDa. Its amino acid sequence was 83.3% identical to that of Rattus norvegicus. It also complemented an erg7 yeast strain SMY8 |CITS: [7639730]|. A cDNA was also expressed in the yeast Pichia pastoris and the enzyme was purified. The molecular weight was 80,000 Da by SDS-PAGE; 85,690 Da predicted from sequence; 85,700 Da by mass spectral analysis; and 86 kDa by sedimentation equilibrium analysis in a analytical ultracentrifuge. It was determined to be most active as a monomer |CITS: [14766201]|."^^ . . . . . . . . . "lanosterol synthase"^^ . "lanosterol synthase (2,3-oxidosqualene-lanosterol cyclase)"^^ . .
