Electrophysiological recordings made in Xenopus oocytes that express DGluR-II revealed depolarizing responses to L-glutamate and L-aspartate but low sensitivity to quisqualate, alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionate (AMPA), and kainate.
