NCI: A rare malignancy of mixed histological type involving endometrial adenocarcinoma and sarcomatous cells. Uterine carcinosarcoma is associated with prior radiation therapy as a risk factor. While hysterosalpingo-oophorectomy is usually performed in an attempt to contain the disease, further clinical trials will need to be done to optimize the chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy regimen for these patients.
