Apocrine sweat gland

NCI: A type of large, coiled, tubular, sometimes branched, specialized sweat gland that empties into the upper portion of a hair follicle instead of directly onto the skin surface. It has no secretory innervation but is sensitive to epinephrine in the bloodstream.
