MSH: An idiopathic syndrome characterized by the formation of granulation tissue in the anterior cavernous sinus or superior orbital fissure, producing a painful ophthalmoplegia. (Adams et al., Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, p271),NCI: A disorder characterized by unilateral acute orbital pain associated with muscle weakness or paralysis of the orbital muscles. It is caused by non-specific inflammation of the cavernous sinus or superior orbital fissure.
