MSH: A paralytic condition of the legs caused by ingestion of lathyrogens, especially BETA-AMINOPROPIONITRILE or beta-N-oxalyl amino-L-alanine, which are found in the seeds of plants of the genus LATHYRUS.,CSP: excessive ingestion of seeds of the legume genus Lathyrus, which contain beta aminopropionitrile, an inhibitor of the enzyme lysyl oxidase; the disease is characterized by spastic paraplegia, pain, hyperesthesia, and paresthesia.
