MSH: A clear, yellowish liquid that envelopes the FETUS inside the sac of AMNION. In the first trimester, it is likely a transudate of maternal or fetal plasma. In the second trimester, amniotic fluid derives primarily from fetal lung and kidney. Cells or substances in this fluid can be removed for prenatal diagnostic tests (AMNIOCENTESIS).,CSP: amniotic cavity fluid which is produced by the amnion and fetal lungs and kidneys.,CHV: waters,CHV: waters,CHV: waters,NCI: The fluid within the amniotic cavity which surrounds and protects the developing embryo. (NCI),NCI: The fluid within the amniotic cavity which surrounds and protects the developing embryo. It is initially produced by the amnion and then later by the lungs and kidneys. The amount at term normally varies from 500 to 2000 ml.
