UMD: Kits intended for injection of a liquid agent into specific gastrointestinal tissue (e.g., the region of the lower esophageal sphincter) and allowed to precipitate as a solid permanent implant increasing tissue bulk. These kits typically include two containers with the implantable solution (e.g., a biocompatible copolymer and a radio opaque marker) and a liquid solvent respectively, a catheter with an injection needle, a syringe, and a hypodermic needle. Dedicated gastrointestinal tissue bulking agent kits are available for the treatment of specific disorders (e.g., esophageal sphincter reflux).
