MSH: Trophoblasts with multinuclear cytoplasm and undefined cellular structures. Syncytiotrophoblasts secrete proteolytic enzymes that erode the ENDOMETRIUM for EMBRYO IMPLANTATION. They also produce steroid, peptide, and protein hormones (PLACENTAL HORMONES).
