NCI: A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram positive, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Firmicutes. This species is nonmotile, catalase negative, produces acid from trehalose, nonsporeforming and produces lactic acid. L. johnsonii is a commensal organism of the upper gastrointestinal tract with probiotic activity.,NCI: Any bacterial organism that can be assigned to the species Lactobacillus johnsonii.
