T lymphocyte activity and thymic secretion were studied in bilaterally ovariectomized and sham-operated rats. Our data suggest that ovaries could not act on estradiol receptors located on thymic epithelial cells, the source of thymic factors, but on other hypothetic receptors affected by puberty.
