After myocardial infarction, left ventricular dilation is a frequent cause of cardiac insufficiency, which is associated with high morbidity and mortality. In this angiographic study, the natural course of postinfarction ventricular dilation could be followed up because patients undergoing revascularization procedures were excluded and only some few patients received angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors.
