Literary and the authors' own data on the clinical picture and the pathogenesis of the syndrome of generalized tic (Turett's syndrome) are presented. By using a combination of psychometric, motometric, and electrophysiological methods in the "sleep-awakeness" cycle characteristic disturbances in various links of the non-specific brain systems were revealed in 9 patients with the above syndrome. Their possible role in the disease pathogenesis is discussed.
