pubmed-article:3608826 | pubmed:abstractText | In 90 patients the alkali resistance (AR) according to Burckhardt was measured on the back of the hand and on the thigh. Subjects with healthy skin (n = 30) reacted in a normal way. Those with healed hand eczema (n = 30) had a diminished AR in both areas tested; subjects with atopic eczema (n = 30) presented an even more diminished AR. Thus, in this broadened scope, simultaneous determination of AR on the back of the hand and on the thigh with the AR-test seems to be valuable in the recognition of an eczematous disposition. | lld:pubmed |
