pubmed-article:2886182 | pubmed:abstractText | Somatostatin, neuropeptide Y and dopamine release from the conscious rat caudate nucleus were investigated using the push-pull perfusion method. Significant reductions in somatostatin and neuropeptide Y release coincided with increased dopamine release, suggesting that dopamine has an inhibitory effect on the release of both peptides. Changes in the levels of both peptides were positively correlated, consistent with their co-release from neuropeptide Y- and somatostatin-containing striatal neurons. | lld:pubmed |
