A case of cholelithiasis in a 5-year-old girl is presented in which the main symptom was recurrent pain of the upper abdomen. The diagnosis was made by ultrasound examination of the abdomen and confirmed at surgery. Possible etiological factors of gallstones in children are discussed and the role of abdominal ultrasound examination is emphasized.
