Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common disease in Taiwan. The prevalence of viral hepatitis infection and the subsequent development of HCC are well known to be higher in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD) than among the general population. However, information on hepatic resection for ESRD-HCC patients is limited.
