pubmed-article:15665721 | pubmed:abstractText | We report a case of an adolescent with human immunodeficiency virus infection who presented with epiglottitis caused by Candida albicans. This patient's symptom was severe oropharyngeal thrush without the classic manifestations of epiglottitis. Atypical organisms can cause epiglottitis in immunocompromised adolescents and they can have mild symptoms. | lld:pubmed |
