We conducted a study on humans to determine whether quantitative evaluation of blood-brain barrier (BBB) breakdown using the (99m)Tc-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid ((99m)Tc-DTPA) SPECT technique at the peak time of stroke evolution can predict neurologic outcome.
